WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

In one Sapling grove on a Tuesday morning, three

children sit at the same table working on three different

things. One is on long division. One is multiplying

fractions. One is solving for x.

Their educator moves between them, asking the same

question of each:

"How did you get that?"

None is ahead. None is behind. Each is exactly where they

need to be.

WHAT GROWTH LOOKS LIKE

Last August, a second-grader joined our Seedling grove. Her former teachers had told her parents she was "doing fine." Her report card said proficient across the board. But her parents had a feeling, the kind that does not go away, that something was being missed.

On her first morning at The Grove, our placement diagnostic confirmed it. She was reading two grades above her age. She was working in math more than a year below it. Both had been invisible at her old school, because both averaged out to "fine."

We placed her into reading with the third and fourth-grade grove on day two. Her math began at the actual level she needed, early first-grade gaps, with no shame attached to that starting line.

READING

Fall: Two grades ahead, growing bored.
Spring: Upper elementary fiction with comprehension to match.

MATH

Fall: Early first-grade work, more than a year behind.
Spring: Confident place value and regrouping at grade level.

At the spring conference, her mother said the change she noticed first wasn't the data. It was that her daughter had started asking questions in class for the first time in two years.

The Grove is built for...

The Grove is not...

Families who suspect their child is being told "fine" when fine is not the same as growing.

Parents who want honest, specific data about where their child stands and what comes next.

Children whose abilities don't fit a single grade level, and who deserve instruction calibrated to who they actually are, in every subject.

A co-op, a learning pod, or a tutoring center. We are a private microschool with credentialed educators, a formal curriculum, and an admissions process.

A place where children are managed instead of challenged. The work is real and the expectations are real.

A school for families who prefer to outsource the academic conversation. We expect partnership, and we expect questions.

THE FOUNDERS

Mrs. Brittiona Lewis & Dr. Yunique Simpson, EdD

Co-founders of The Grove at Hearth. Both of us teach every day. We built this school for the families we kept meeting in Frisco; parents who had been told their child was "fine," and who knew it was not enough.
